FIRST STOP: LECCE

Time: 8:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Historical notes: Lecce, known as the "Florence of the South," is famous for its Lecce Baroque style and historic buildings. The city is an open-air museum, rich in churches and elegant squares.

What to see:

  • Basilica of Santa Croce – Baroque masterpiece with a richly decorated facade.

  • Piazza del Duomo – Historic center and beating heart of the city

  • Roman Amphitheater – Evidence of ancient Roman Lecce.

Interesting facts: Walking through the streets of the city center, you will notice the Baroque balconies and buildings decorated with Lecce stone carvings, a symbol of local craftsmanship.

SECOND STOP: CASTRO

Time: 12:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Historical notes: Castro is a village overlooking the sea, with ancient origins and a past marked by Roman and Norman domination.

What to see:

  • Aragonese Castle – Fortress overlooking the Adriatic Sea.

  • Historic center – Characteristic alleys, small squares, and panoramic views.

  • Zinzulusa Cave – A beautiful sea cave famous for its stalactites and stalagmites.

Gastronomic experience: Lunch in a typical local trattoria, with local specialties and fresh products from the Salento tradition.

Souvenir included: A small gift typical of the area to take home as a souvenir of the tour.

Time: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Historical notes: Otranto, a fortified city on the Adriatic Sea, is famous for its Aragonese Castle and its cathedral with its 12th-century mosaic floor.

What to see:

  • Otranto Cathedral – With unique medieval mosaics and a Romanesque façade.

  • Aragonese Castle – The city's symbolic fortress.

  • Historic center and seafront – Stroll through narrow streets, small squares, and glimpses of the sea.

Interesting fact: Otranto preserves the memory of the martyrdom of 800 people in 1480, depicted in the mosaic in the cathedral.

Arrival in Brindisi: 8:30 p.m.

Lecce, on the other hand, is nicknamed the "Florence of the South" for its Baroque style, which is so rich that it attracts artists and tourists from all over the world.

  • A guide is available on request. The presence of a guide is only confirmed if all 8 passengers request one; otherwise, the tour will take place without a guide and a discount of €20 will be applied to the total price.
